Acoustic HardFloor for Wood Flooring

Acoustic HardFloor underlayment for wood flooring is a lightweight underlayment system that has been specially designed for floated or glue down wood flooring. Acoustic Underlayment  offers high energy impact with low weight and will remain unchanged after repeated impact loads. Acoustic Underlayment for wood floors is a expanded polypropylene underlayment that will not rot, swell, absorb water and is anti microbial. Acoustic Underlayment has been tested and has the performance equal to 1/2″ recycled rubber. Acoustic Underlayment can be bonded to approved sub floors using ANC-T-950 bond coat adhesive.

Product Data: Manufacturer’s data sheets on each product to be used, including:

  • Preparation instructions and recommendations.
  • Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
  • Installation methods.

Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer’s full range of available colors and patterns.


Manufacturer Qualifications: The manufacturer shall be a firm with a minimum of two years of successful experience in manufacture of products with similar requirements.

Installer Qualifications: The installer shall be a firm with a minimum of five years of successful experience in installation of products with similar requirements.


Store products in manufacturer’s unopened packaging until ready for installation.

Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.


Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer’s absolute limits.


Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.


Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.


Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.


Protect installed products until completion of project.

Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
